Wendy van Donkelaar is a Director at STS Capital Partners, where she supports deal team activity across North America. She is a seasoned business leader with more than 30 years of experience in finance, operations, and mergers & acquisitions, with a proven record of delivering growth and maximizing enterprise value. Known for her ability to thrive in high-growth and entrepreneurial environments, Wendy has developed a reputation for aligning financial strategy with operational execution to create sustainable success.
Throughout her career, Wendy has raised over $500 million in private equity and venture debt financings and has been directly involved in M&A transactions exceeding $1.5 billion. Her deal experience spans industries including B2B and B2C, technology, manufacturing, financial services, and consumer packaged goods. Wendy’s expertise covers the full transaction lifecycle – leading due diligence, structuring complex financings, managing negotiations, and planning post-deal integrations – ensuring that every transaction delivers both premium valuations and long-term value creation.
Her executive leadership includes serving as CFO and COO at MAKE Technologies and at Immersive Media, where she was instrumental in driving both companies through successful, high-value strategic exits to global buyers during her tenure.
These transactions demonstrated her ability to position companies for premium outcomes, delivering significant shareholder returns while ensuring long-term growth opportunities post-acquisition. In addition, Wendy serves as Partner at Square Root Consulting, where she advises clients on financial strategy, capital structures, and growth planning.
Her core expertise spans financial and operational management, strategic planning, exits, FP&A, forecasting, analytics, KPIs, and contract negotiations. She is valued for her ability to collaborate seamlessly with founders, investors, and strategic buyers, combining a relationship-driven approach with a sharp focus on results.
Wendy is widely recognized for her ability to bridge strategy and execution, ensuring that both investors and operators achieve their objectives through successful transactions.
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Simon Fraser University and is a Chartered Accountant.
