Christopher (Chris) W. Clements, a dedicated and experienced social entrepreneur, is supporting as a Managing Director of STS Capital Partners, North America.
For decades Chris was vice chairman and CEO of Arizona’s Golden Eagle Distributors, Inc. Chris helped the company achieve several milestones, ranking as one of the largest beer wholesalers in the U.S. In 2016, Golden Eagle was sold to Phoenix-based Hensley Beverage Co.
Under his leadership as CEO, Golden Eagle served as a family-owned, Arizona-based wholesaler for several major national brewers, making Chris a recognized leader in the beer industry. At its peak, Golden Eagle distributed more than 10.6 million cases a year and had gross sales of $165 million. Chris led the company to enjoy a statewide market share of over 60 percent, and the company was consistently recognized for its innovations in delivery technology. In 2012, Golden Eagle was honored with Beverage World’s “Fleet of the Year” award for its successful, cost-saving transition to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles for all of its Tucson and Casa Grande fleet.
In 2003, Chris established The Wings Like Eagles Foundation, a private, employee-supported foundation to provide additional financial support to a variety of charities in communities served by Golden Eagle. By the end of 2015, the foundation granted nearly $2 million statewide to many worthy organizations. Recently, Chris and his wife, Sasha, established the Chris and Sasha Clements Charitable Fund to continue the work of The Wings Like Eagles Foundation. Chris is also founder of the Rise Up Foundation, a public policy educational foundation.
Since selling Golden Eagle in 2016, Chris has found new purpose in his life, investing in his faith and family. He is a Graduate Fellow and Ambassador for Halftime Institute in Dallas, and he serves on the board of directors of Boulder Crest Foundation, an organization working with veterans, first responders, and their families. Chris says that he now wants to live “a life of significance of faith.”
Chris is also a Legacy Member of the Arizona Chapter of YPO, having served in several leadership positions, including co-chairing the “YPO Inside Washington Seminar” in Washington, D.C., for 15 years.
Chris serves as the finance officer for University City Church, where he Is a member. He has also served on the boards of Forest Home Foundation and Salpointe Catholic School. He has been a member of CREST Insurance Community Council, The American Enterprise Institute Leadership Network, and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of the University of Southern California, where he studied law and political science, Chris remains active in the USC Associates and is a member of The USC Trojan Club Scholarship Committee.
