Doug Brownridge brings over 40 years of global experience identifying needs, optimizing solutions, and leveraging value drivers to create exponential growth across many B2C and B2B organizations. Over his career, he has engaged in over 40 M&A and JV transactions globally.
Doug began his career with 14 years of experience in hyper-competitive Brand Management streams, where he was engaged in brand portfolio management & acquisitions. As VP of New Products and Services for Rogers Wireless, seeking more dynamic opportunities, Doug ventured into technology. In 2000, he joined PMC-Sierra broadband semiconductors in Vancouver, overseeing Marketing and Business Development as the lead for a successful initiative to gain leadership in the Asian market. He engaged in over ten strategic acquisitions, including a $3B acquisition of QED microprocessors.
More recently in his career, Doug drove initiatives to drive value growth in several recent Intrawest acquisitions, including A&K Safaris and CMH Heli-skiing. He participated in the strategic acquisition of Steamboat and Intrawest’s ultimate $2.8B exit. Post exit, Doug joined ACL, the global leader in data analytics for Internal Audit. He contributed to their next level of growth, setting the company’s course to a successful $1.1B exit.
As a Managing Director at STS, Doug brings outstanding experience in identifying value streams and growth opportunities, combined with analytical skills, intuition, and empathy to help STS identify and deliver Extraordinary Exits for its clients.
Doug chairs the Aprio Board Governance software and serves on the Board of Canlan Sports (TSX: ICE) and two high-growth Private Advisory Boards. Doug graduated from The University of Toronto with a degree in Economics and Political Science. He holds an ICD.D Corporate Directors Diploma from Rotman. In his free time, he is an avid skier and kayaker, and hockey player.
