We are pleased to announce the appointment of David Pedrol as a Managing Director, based in Indonesia. He is a globally accomplished entrepreneur, executive leader, and M&A advisor with more than 25 years of experience helping companies scale, expand internationally, and achieve successful exits across Asia-Pacific. Having founded and led multiple high-growth businesses across Greater China and Southeast Asia, David brings a founder’s perspective, deep M&A transaction expertise, and extensive cross-border business experience to business owners seeking to maximize value and achieve Extraordinary Exits™.
As a Managing Director at STS, David leverages his firsthand experience building, scaling, and successfully exiting founder-led businesses to guide entrepreneurs, family business owners, and CEOs through the complexities of the sale process. He is best known for leading the growth and ultimate exit of YesMyWine, which became China’s leading wine e-commerce platform with more than six million members and €70 million in annual revenue. He identified the strategic acquirer, led due diligence and negotiations, and helped structure the company’s acquisition by Googut Wine & Spirits in a transaction valued at approximately $140 million.
Having personally navigated strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and exits as both an operator and entrepreneur, David understands what strategic buyers value and how founders can position their businesses to command premium valuations. His experience identifying acquirers, creating strategic alignment, and executing complex transactions provides STS clients with practical insight that extends far beyond traditional investment banking advice.
Beyond M&A, David has built and operated businesses across some of Asia’s most dynamic markets. As founder of Winetobe and GoDrinks, he pioneered multi-country beverage e-commerce platforms serving customers throughout Southeast Asia and Greater China. He has also held senior executive leadership roles spanning China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and Japan, leading large-scale commercial expansion initiatives and developing strategic partnerships with organizations including Alibaba and AS Watson Group. His extensive experience across diverse markets and cultures provides valuable perspective for founders pursuing cross-border growth and strategic transactions.
David’s entrepreneurial success and industry leadership have earned international recognition. He was named by Decanter Magazine as one of the “27 Most Important People in the Wine World” for his role in transforming beverage distribution and e-commerce across Asia. Beyond business, he is deeply committed to creating lasting social impact, having established and funded five Food & Beverage education schools across Singapore, the Maldives, Hong Kong, China, and Indonesia, providing underprivileged students with pathways to meaningful careers and long-term economic opportunity.
“David’s extensive experience as a founder, operator, and advisor, combined with his proven track record of building and successfully exiting businesses across Asia-Pacific, will deliver tremendous outcomes for our clients as they seek to sell to strategic buyers, realize true potential value, and achieve Extraordinary Exits™,” said Sean Friday, CEO of STS Capital Partners.
