ALEX HIGHSTEIN
Director
Alex supports the firm’s deal teams as a Director at STS Capital Partners, bringing nearly two decades of experience in corporate development, M&A, strategic finance, and capital markets. He has built his career at the intersection of finance and strategy, advising founders and executive teams on acquisitions, growth financing, and exit readiness. Alex is known for his analytical rigor, disciplined transaction execution, and ability to position companies for maximum strategic value in competitive sale processes.
Prior to joining STS, Alex served as a Fractional CFO and Strategic Finance Advisor, partnering with founders and management teams across technology, healthcare, consumer products, energy, industrials, and AgriFood. In this capacity, he led comprehensive M&A evaluations, developed fully integrated three-statement financial models, structured diligence-ready financial packages, and supported capital raises spanning venture, growth equity, and debt financing. His work frequently centered on preparing companies for strategic alternatives, ensuring financial narratives were credible, defensible, and aligned with how sophisticated buyers evaluate risk and opportunity.
Earlier in his career, Alex held corporate development roles at AeroFarms and Planterra Foods, where he was responsible for acquisition sourcing and evaluation, strategic partnership structuring, financial modeling, and expansion financing initiatives. He worked closely with executive leadership to assess inorganic growth opportunities, conduct due diligence, and structure transactions that advanced long-term strategic objectives. His experience operating inside growth-oriented companies provides him with a practical understanding of how value is created, measured, and ultimately validated through an M&A process.
Alex began his career in quantitative risk and capital markets roles at McKinsey & Company, Natixis, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, where he developed deep expertise in financial analysis, risk assessment, and capital structuring. This institutional foundation enables him to approach transactions with both analytical precision and an operator’s perspective.
At STS, Alex’s corporate development and CFO experience enhances the firm’s ability to prepare companies for Extraordinary Exits™ and move from Success to Significance™. He works closely with founders to refine financial positioning, anticipate buyer diligence requirements, and structure transactions that maximize valuation, certainty, and alignment with long-term objectives.
Alex earned his BS in Economic Analysis from Binghamton University, with concentrations in Economics, Mathematics, and Spanish.
