Tom Turner
Managing Director
Tom Turner is a highly accomplished CEO, serial entrepreneur, leader, board member, and philanthropist with over 20 years of success spanning the legal services, technology, and professional services sectors. He has led strategic initiatives and transactions across the legal services, electronic discovery, computer forensics, cybersecurity, IT training, and technology industries. Notably, he has successfully guided clients through capital raises when a sale was not immediately feasible, ultimately strengthening the business and positioning it for strategic acquisition opportunities.
Tom was the founding partner of DSi, Inc., a legal services firm specializing in advanced electronic discovery and digital forensics. For 15 years, he served as CEO and President before transitioning to Executive Chairman and Steward of Purpose, where he focused on cultivating an exceptional company culture. Guided by the organization’s purpose, eDiscovery About People, Tom championed a workplace environment that earned DSi a place on Inc. Magazine’s list of the 50 Best Places to Work. Industry peers frequently visited DSi to learn from its thriving, purpose-driven culture.
As a serial entrepreneur, Tom has successfully built and exited multiple companies. He co-founded and sold three computer forensics and eDiscovery businesses, including his largest exit with the help of STS Capital Partners, where he experienced firsthand the power of a strategic selling process. In addition, he founded and sold a global IT training and certification company, as well as launched ventures in SaaS-based e-discovery solutions and cybersecurity. His deal experience is broad and industry-agnostic, spanning the aviation, construction/manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare technology sectors.
Inspired by his own exit journey, Tom joined STS Capital Partners as a Managing Director, where he now helps other business owners achieve Extraordinary Exits™. He is an active member of Entrepreneur Organization (EO) and Tiger21. Tom has served on multiple boards, including Watermelon Ministries, Picture the Nations, Givful Inc., Legility Inc., and KLIFE Ministries, where he is a founding board member.
Tom graduated from Randolph-Macon College with a Degree in Business and Economics.
