Sean Friday

Chief Executive Officer

As a seasoned senior executive and CEO of STS Capital Partners, Sean has led, coached, and enabled dozens of private business owners through the process of an Extraordinary Exit.

With positivity and empathy, Sean is driven to create optimal outcomes for our clients while also enabling the goals and aspirations of our entire team. He brings his specialized knowledge from an array of industries to create strategy, lead innovation and deliver results at STS.

Sean has 30 years of experience leading operations, strategy, transformations, corporate governance for organizations in addition to spearheading several multibillion-dollar acquisition programs. As a former 2-star Air Force General, he became deeply experienced across multiple industry sectors in leadership, strategy, operations, capability integration, R&D, logistics, aerospace, international partnerships, and government relations.

Prior to joining STS Capital Partners in early 2021, Sean was the Vice Director for Logistics and Engineering at United States Central Command where he directed support to U.S. and coalition military operations in the Middle East. Before that role, he was the deputy lead of a 15,000-person organization implementing Canada’s National Defense Program and strategic acquisitions; the Director General responsible for Royal Canadian Air Force operational readiness and strategic planning; the Commandant and Vice Chancellor of the Royal Military College of Canada, Canada’s largest military university; and the Commander of Canada’s largest Air Force base consisting of three airports and over 4,000 personnel conducting global air transport operations.

Sean holds an Executive MBA from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Royal Military College. He is a graduate of Harvard University’s program for Senior Executives in National and International Security, and several other post-graduate programs. Sean has been invested in the Order of Military Merit, awarded the Legion of Merit, and been recognized with multiple national honors in both Canada and the United States. He also helped found Soldier On, a non-profit organization that provides access to sports as a means of recovery for ill and injured military veterans.
